How We Grew My Client’s Shopify Store By 2,096% in 30 Days

HOW WE ACTUALLY TOOK THEM FROM $1,575.68 TO $33,421.79

In order to grow a store that fast the very first thing I have to admit is we used Instagram advertising and custom audiences in order to achieve this growth.

The key to scaling this particular store came down to a few things.

1- Ad creative format that we utilized was in line with the brand

2- The product is a product people actually desired

3- We created a strong offer

Ad Creative Format

For starters the first thing we had to focus on is the art of creating an ad that does not look like an ad.

Great ad campaigns are similar to great salesmanship…the less it looks and feels like you are being sold to the more effective it will be.

So we had the creator put together a highly engaging video that looks exactly the same as her day to day content so it didn’t throw her audience off.

When we created the video we wanted a native feel so instead of it being super direct we used more of a “product placement” angle.

When you create the ads using this “product placement” angle your audience will feel like it is being sold in a more tasteful and softer way.

In my experience the more you make the ads personable the better they perform.

It is almost like your goal should be for your customer to think…hey do I know this person?

That is contrary to what is often taught in selling and marketing.

The traditional teaching is to go straight for the close and be as direct as possible but if you follow this counterintuitive approach you may be surprised by the results you get.

A Good Product

The next thing that made the campaign work was the product.

The product was in the beauty space and it was priced under $40… so it was not a very expensive product therefore we had to sell a lot of units.

But the key to a great marketing campaign is you have to actually have a product that people want.

You can’t just sell anything to anyone using marketing and paid ads and expect it to work.

There has to be a well thought out strategy on what your product is, who it serves and most importantly why they should buy it from you as opposed to your competitors.

In short, the product MUST BE GOOD.

When you choose your products that you promote ask yourself the following questions

  • does this product generate an emotion from my customer?

  • will my customers want to share their purchase with their family & friends?

  • does my product make my customers look good?

  • does my product lead them to buy another product?

  • is the perceived desire of the product SIGNIFICANTLY higher than the price?

These are only a few questions that you should answer if you are wanting to have long term success in your business.

If you can’t answer those questions successfully and feel confident that the answer to all of them are a YES, then keep working at developing your offers.

A Strong Offer

In this particular offering we used a price discount but with an upsell strategy in order to maximize our average order values WITHOUT diminishing profits.

If you do this right you can discount on the front end but increase your average order value on the backend to actually make more money than you would of if you just sold your products full price.

What this creator was willing to do was to be flexible in how they decided to do the price strategy and then executed perfectly.

We pushed the single product in the ads at a discount and then once they added to cart we showed them a bundle that they could add on to their order.

Because the customers psychology is in the buying mode because we offered a discount, it’s easier to get them to say yes to buy more stuff.

You see the hardest yes to get is that INITIAL YES when they see your ads.

And the harder you make it for your customer to say yes the less sales you end up getting.

What I believe prevents people from maximizing their sales and trying these strategies is fear and short term vision.

Typically there is too much focus on the immediate gain and potential profit loss versus what you are actually losing by not playing the long game.

I believe you are actually losing more and hurting your business by NOT TESTING these strategies and being too worried about today’s minimal profits while sacrificing tomorrow’s MASSIVE profits.

If you want to gain a HUGE competitive advantage start by doing the things you know your competitors will not do.

Hopefully you gained some value from this post if you ever need help with your marketing strategy reach out!
