How To Increase Your Online Store Conversions

Increasing your conversion rate absolutely needs to be a big focus of yours especially if you are going to be running ads.

Most store owners make the mistake of believing that advertising their store starts and ends at the advertising level.

What this means is they believe that the ads do all of the work and that is the only thing that impacts their results.

But if you neglect the CRUCIAL aspects of getting a higher conversion rate on your store then you will run the risk of wasting your ad dollars or wasting your traffic opportunities.

Here are a few things that will help you get more conversions on your store

  1. YOUR OFFER- getting more conversions on your website starts with the offer itself.

You can’t have a bland boring offer or even worse an overpriced “regular” product.

When you first start your store I would make the argument that you should price your items cheaper and then start to move them up once you start to build a customer base.

When I say an overpriced “regular” product. What I mean is pricing your products as if you have already built a brand or pricing your products higher than the rest of the market for something that is not different.

This mistake normally happens by a rookie store owner who is trying to build too much margin in their products on the front end.

So if you want to start building marketing momentum and a customer base then I would suggest you start lower so that you can gain MORE data faster and then once you start understanding your business model better then increase your prices or create a price funnel.

  2. INVEST IN DESIGN- customers want to buy things that they believe everyone else is interested in. With that being said if your product images look too generic then you will have a harder time getting people to convert.

You will want to make sure you have mulitple images per product that are very clean and easy to see so it attracts the eyes and eventually the money.

The design of your website also needs to be considered because a HUGE MISTAKE that I see store owners make that crushes their conversion rates are too many things happening on the site.

There is no organization to their website or a customer journey or flow that is happening…everything just looks like it was randomly posted.

Because of this…customers just will not take your brand seriously and it causes potential trust issues.

So if you want to increase your online store conversions take the time to make your website easy to navigate, make sure all of the buttons are working, and you present your products in the best light possible.

  3. IMPROVE YOUR WEBSITE SPEED- this is a conversion killer because not only are customers extremely impatient and will leave your website if it doesn’t load instantly but you also get flagged negatively by Facebook, Instagram, Google and any other platform that takes user experience into consideration.

When I say you will get flagged what that means is your advertising costs will be more expensive than your competitors (sometimes 2x or more) causing you to not be able to get the returns you need to be profitable.

Things that crush you website speed are having too big of images, too many videos, too many apps downloaded ( I see this all the time), and too many pixels installed.

This is often overlooked by store owners (which can be an easy fix) if you just take the time to optimize your website.

This alone can make you more money and make your ads and SEO work better.

  4. PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS- by providing in depth detailed product descriptions you will be able to not only optimize better for SEO purposes but it will also allow the customer to know what they may be potentially purchasing.

This is your opportunity to really sell the potential customer and this is typically wasted real estate on many store sites.

You have to realize that your customer is being talked to by A LOT of other competitors that are willing to do the little things to get business.

So if you neglect this trust me your competitors are not and you are losing potential business.

To put it in perspective a good online store conversion rate is around 3%

That means that only 3 people out of 100 actually purchase your products and that is if your store is good.

That just shows you just how competitive it is to sell online so you must have many things in place in order to increase your conversions.

But I will tell you this if you are sending traffic to your site but you work on the above tips I shared, you will increase your store conversion rate and be on your way to making money.
